september – introspective – an exhibition of new work by l.t. dougherty – September 1 to 28, 2017 – Kitchener Public Library – Opening: Wednesday, September 6 at 7 PM – 9 PM

well, i’m having a sale of some of my older works during the month of november… all the pieces that are up for grabs are listed on my facebook page www.facebook.com/ltdoughertyartist/ so check that out (you don’t have to be on facebook to view the pieces, and you can contact me by email)…
also, i’m going to be taking part in a show at the museum in downtown kitchener from january 11 to february 26, 2017. the show is called #exnovation, and all the works are collaborative… the general theme of the series is called “release” and i have made 7 panels, which 7 other area artists will be painting over and completing…i won’t see the pieces until the opening…so it should be a rush….hope you can all make it out to that…

The exhibition runs to November 6 at the Wellington County Museum & Archives at 0536 Wellington Road 18, Elora, ON N1M 2W3.
there has also been a book produced in conjunction with the exhibition, and it will be available both online and at the show for $45 CDN.
it’s been a busy summer… i’m working on an entirely new series of paintings which are sure to be a surprise…
also, i’m in a few shows coming up. the first is ‘Transformations, An Exhibition of Altered Books” at the Helson Gallery in Halton Hills/Georgetown, 9 Church Street. Opening reception is Sunday September 18th 2-4pm, and the exhibit runs until November 27th. Over 55 artists from all over Canada, USA and Europe will have their work represented. and one of them is me.
i’m really stoked about being a part of this exhibition, as the gallery is utterly fantastic (it’s inside a renovated church attached to the library) and it’s curated by the inestimable Supria Karmaker, whose work i madly adore.
the second show i’ll be participating in is another group show called ‘death perceptions’ in elora, and i’ll have more details on that when i get them. it’s also supposed to be in september.
after a great night at the globe studios spring open house where i hung as a guest of pamela rojas-perez, i started on a few new works.
and coming up in june, i will be a guest artist for the ‘little library takeover’ at the home of trent bauman and juanita metzger with a brand new piece that is custom-made for their little library. i’m looking forward to the evening and will be posting pics of the event afterwards!
much has been happening! i’ve been painting up a storm lately, and have a number of new works available, and i’m also in a few shows right now, so you can go see the work in person.
i’m taking part in another group exhibition called ‘shades of white‘ at tantra lounge on st. clair street in toronto. the show runs feb 26 – mar 29.
i’m also taking part in the ‘art + community‘ juried exhibition at the waterloo public library – john m. harper branch. opening reception thursday March 3, 2016, 6:30pm-8:30pm. exhibition runs until march 31st.
i have a few other irons in the fire as well, and i’ll post information about them as they solidify.
a lot of new work has been happening so far this month. i’ll be participating in a show called ‘shades of white’ at tantra lounge. the show runs from february 26 to march 29, and you can find info about it here.

well, it’s a new year. i’m not really sure where it’s going yet, but i have work up at the tantra lounge in toronto until feb 24. i’m also committing to doing a couple new pieces for the Death Perceptions show in fergus, on…so you will want to keep your eyes open for that one. have some new pieces on the studio table, and we’ll see what happens with them. have a good year everyone!

what’s new with me? well, quite a bit. i have moved, and have a new studio room in my apartment now. finally getting back to making some new work now that the kerfluffles have died down. i also joined an artist cooperative gallery that opened up in may, called The Art District Gallery. their website is here, and we have openings once a month, with new work going up for every show. great group of people, and so far the feedback on the gallery has been great!
i’ll also be taking part in a show called #FFWR (fast forward waterloo region) from Wednesday September 17th – Sunday October 4th, 2015 at The Museum in downtown Kitchener.
and i’m in an exhibition at Walter Fedy called reset:green 2015. the show runs from Aug 4-Oct 23, 2015 at Walter Fedy, 675 Queen St. S. Suite 111, Kitchener, ON. there’s a reception on Wed. Sept.16 6-8pm. everyone welcome!
there is also a satellite show at Cafe Pyrus in downtown Kitchener for September/October. check them out at www.cafepyrus.com and come down for a coffee and see the work!
