this series is about something that has influenced my art and my life for a very long time. i was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder in my 20's, stemming from incidents in my childhood, teenage years, and complicated by incidents that occured in my 30's. for the most part, i have coped by making art, some therapy, and the patience and tolerance of a few very close friends. however, often, symptoms seem to recur, and this series is an attempt at a visual dscription of what it is like to live with ptsd, and the thoughts and images that disrupt a life and throw it off-course. while the images are metaphorical, the feelings they represent are not.
